COCHRANE, AB (January 3, 2014) — Cliiiimb by 4iiii Innovations, the latest technology success story coming out of Cochrane, AB is a finalist in the Mobile App Showdown at CES in Las Vegas, January 7-14, 2014.

Cliiiimb is one of 10 apps competing for the top prize on a global stage with only one other Canadian company.

According to CES, the annual International electronics and technology consumer tradeshow is where those who shape the future gather.

4iiii Innovations will present Cliiiimb at CES in the Mobile App Showdown. The company will also take the opportunity while at CES to launch their latest technology that has been developed on an open API so any developer can build upon it.

The founders of 4iiii continue to assert their engineering and technology expertise in the realm of wearable sensors. 4iiiii is founded and run by the same team who started Dynastream Innovations Inc., a company that pioneered the development of new monitoring platforms including the ANT+ ultra-low power protocol which enables a majority of sport monitoring devices on the market today.

Olympian Simon Whitfield enters the world of product design

Olympic Gold Medalist Simon Whitfield knows the importance science and technology play in the success of an athlete. That is why he is partnering with 4iiii Innovations to inspire product design in the realm of wearable technology.

“4iiii is ahead of the curve as far as providing athletes with intuitive, real-time data,” said Whitfield. “They understand the role that precise performance measurement plays both in an athlete’s training and in competing successfully. That’s why I’m excited to not only contribute to the design, but also test what they have already developed!”

4iiii Innovations is a Cochrane, Alberta based company leading the pack in wearable technology designed for athletes. The company develops technologies that improve sports performance and make the athlete’s world safer.

Simon Whitfield is one of Canada’s most celebrated athletes. In addition to winning Gold at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and Silver in Beijing in 2008, he has claimed 10 consecutive Canadian Traithlete Championships. He lives in Victoria, BC and is involved in a number of initiatives intended to encourage, coach and train aspiring athletes. Whitfield was a keynote speaker and ran in the 10K this weekend at the Calgary Marathon, the oldest marathon in Canada.

Prior to launching 4iiii Innovations, CEO Kip Fyfe started Dynastream Innovations Inc., another Cochrane based company that pioneered the development of wearable technology platforms for wireless and running applications. Garmin Ltd. purchased Dynastream in 2006.
